Sit back, swap that average cup of Joe for a mimosa and think warm thoughts cause we are exploring

Miami

Super Sexy Guide to South Beach, Miami:

Stay

South Beach {AirBnB}

IMG_6762

Okay so Miami is huge. {I know, duhhh}. But I was surprised. I had never been to Miami and soon I learned the difference between Miami and South Beach. Stay in South Beach near Ocean Drive and 12th to 6th st. It’s the area to be as an upbeat, trendy, go-getter like yourself {yes you too Mom}. AirBnB, like I’ve mentioned before, has some bargain gems. Our $60 a night beach house was PERFECT. True Miami vibe literally a block from the beach and seconds from all the Margaritas and Cuban food you can eat.

Shop

Dolphin Mall

If you’re looking for great shopping, you’re gunna have to either a) suck it up and pay the fare or b) rent a car {like I did}. Look for car deals on Priceline OR Kayak. The shopping at Dolphin Mall was perfect. I had limited time and unlimited determination to find the deals. And I sure did. Oh what? This Rag & Bone Earheart Crepe Tuxedo Blouse for $30? Yes. Tail-style split back, cropped front hem, bib front panel, bracelet sleeves and all. Get it girl. Head over to Dolphin Mall and check out Nordstrom RACK, Saks Fifth Ave OFF 5TH, Neiman Marcus LAST CALL, and Bloomingdale’s OUTLET… Ugh. I can’t.

Sip

Wet Willie’s {$}

Located 760 Ocean Drive, this is a must. Stop in and be your own mixology genius. There are about 92 different flavours {give or take a few} and you are able to mix and match any kinds you want. These treats are for over 21 year olds… Sorry young ones. There are two sugar-free options. I mixed the sugar-free “Call-A-Cab” and Piña Colada. It was insane. Seriously the creamy-ness of the Piña Colada made this drink into a dessert for this girl. However, fore warning… these drinks definitely come with some kick so sip slowly :|

Miami

Monty’s {$$$}

If you’re looking for a low key, diamond in the rough located on the water next to a harbour to watch the sunset and enjoy a couple margarita’s, then this is the spot. Seriously was one of the highlights that stick out in my mind. There is a pool on the patio next to the bar and we were able to relax and enjoy the sunset peaking over top the gorgeous yachts wading in the harbour. They do have a happy hour, {not really advertised}, so make sure you head down 4pm-8pm Monday to Friday for 30% off glasses of wine/12oz beer and half off select liquors ;)

Liv {$$$$}

Miami Beach is famous for world class nightclubs. Liv is an absolute powerhouse for todays EDM scene. This would be one of the only clubs in North America that can liv {haha} up to the superclubs on the White Isle Island of Ibiza. Be prepared to throw down around $25 per drink… Or hit up a few bars prior but come ready to party. ***Make sure while cruising up and down Miami Beach boardwalk during the day you actually listen to club promoters as these can be the best way into superclubs.***

Story {$$$$}

If you were in Miami for only 1 night and deciding between Liv and Story, it would be difficult to suggest Story over Liv. HAVING SAID THAT, they are both unreal superclubs in the South Beach area. Check out the DJ line ups prior to going as this is going to give you a better idea of planning your South Beach drink-a-thon. {Please Drink Responsibly ;)}

***TIP: If you’re looking for bottles, {ladies work that updo}, guys check out the InList App. Our new fav app that allows you to scope a menu of bottle service prices and actually book your package at any major club. This innovative idea actually started in Miami and is now covering party scenes from Australia to Europe to the Middle East. Bottle service packages are often not as expensive as you would think once you factor in cover and drinks. Ofcourse, prices vary by night and DJ.***

Eat

Oh! México {$$$}

Tacos. Chips. Salsa. Guac. HULLLOOOO. Seriously love Mexican food and you needed dis when visiting South Beach. Cute little Mexican joint located on Española Way Village. Grab a spot on the patio, order a couple Margs and snack on chips with salsa and guac. Enjoy yourself ;)

Sushi Samba {$$$}

Oh gosh I was not expecting how unreal this food would be. Sushi Samba is a chain with numerous locations across the USA. I’ve never tried Sushi Samba but it was honestly a 1 minute walk down the street from our little beach house so why not? We also found out they have Happy Hour {not advertised AGAIN… like WHAT is with this. We love Happy Hour… why not celebrate it?}. Sunday to Thursday 4pm-7pm AND 11pm to close. We sipped on Caipirinha’s {unreal} and shared an assortment of appie’s. My FAVS were: Yellowtail Crispy Taquitos with avocado and roasted corn miso {okay I don’t even typically like fish and I gobbled this up in 3 seconds flat}, Calamari with tomato, onion and fried Plantains, Amazônia Roll with swiss chard, portabello mushroom, cucumber, tempura flake, wasabi and onion soy….. SO GOOD.

Puerto Sagua {$}

OKAY, Best for last. Miami = Cuban food. Like you actually NEED to eat it when you’re there. I know right? Twist my arm. ;) Puerto Sagua is the one and only option… in my mind. This dive is where it’s at. Low prices, Insane food. I sampled the Cuban sandwich and then traditional roast chicken with fried plantains and rice with black beans. Oh my gosh UHMAZING. The best food I had whole trip. It probably also had something to do with the Colada in my hand. COCAINE IN A CUP. Khloe Kardashian was NOT kidding around. I was addicted to these little cups of sweet caffeinated nectar the entire trip. It was a phase of my life that should stay in South Beach *sigh*.

South Beach

Ya just gotta. Sun, fresh air, beach. Walk around and soak in the South Beach flavour. BEWARE OF JELLYFISH. Damn jellies ruined my ocean swim however, did not kill my vibe :)
