Don’t you hate when life gets busy? Like so busy. But not busy enough for my Saturdays. Also I’ve been dying to share this with you all.

FARSALI.

Who else splurged on themselves during the Sephora spring sale? Good for you. We deserve it. PLUS it’s a sale so why not stock up!? I’m saving so much money I’m going broke.

Ha.

Lame joke.

There was ONE thing I was a) dying to try and b) shocked to see Sephora started carrying it… IN CANADA.

Farsali. Never heard of it?

Let’s get caught up.

I was seeing TONS of beauty bloggers use this magical oil that had GOLD FLAKES in it. I KEPT seeing this ROSE GOLD ELIXIR, but mostly on beauty bloggers Instagrams. They consistently used it. These bloggers would always prep their skin and lips with this magical elixir. I mean, it’s bad cause I AM a blogger but I’m also a person. AKA I always wonder if these beauty bloggers ACTUALLY swear by products like this. I’m a consumer and if I’m going to be spending $67 on a beauty oil it better freakin’ work.

The curiosity grew stronger. THEN Farsali released UNICORN ESSENCE. Um, Mom, tip: anything unicorn is SO IN right now. I want unicorn cake, frappuccinos, hair, lipgloss, gift wrap, everything.

The straw that broke the camels back was when Sephora started carrying it… and the spring sale hit.

Those two products sat in my basket for 24 hours until I took the plunge… I MEAN IT WAS ON SALE!!!

I actually justified it by telling myself this is a bullet I’m taking for ALL OF US. I will HONESTLY let you all know what I think of each product and whether it’s worth your hard earned cash.

Let’s start with the matriarch of the line.

ROSE GOLD ELIXIR.

It smells insane. That is the first thing I noticed. I don’t even really know how to describe the smell. It smells like rose petals and cotton candy in one silky smooth elixir.

The consistency is light, not too thick which is exactly what we want.

It could be my imagination BUT I swear the 24K gold flakes add a hint of sparkle to my complexion rather than just looking super oily. It looks more dewy.

I add about 3-4 drops onto my hands and rub it all over my face. The beauty bloggers actually apply it directly onto their face, then rub or use a beauty blender. Some mix a drop or two into their foundation and apply with a beauty blender. I need to try that.

Best for last.

LIPS.

Okay google @farahdhukai and she ALWAYS uses this on her lips. She swears by it before applying matte lip makeup. Yes, I AM aware her husband created the company and she probably has a room FULL of rose gold elixir but I can’t help but watch her videos in awe.

So I rubbed this oil all over my lips and went to bed. TALK ABOUT HYDRATION. I actually have chronic dry lips I am CONSTANTLY applying vaseline or my fav rose salve by C.E Bigelow.

THIS. IS. MY. NEW. BEDTIME. ROUTINE.

Bring it on dry Canadian climate I am so ready.

I notice a big difference.

I understand $67 is a TON. I use this stuff sparingly. I’m still wondering if it will be a ride or die OR I’ll find another rose hip oil that I love. Like this $6.99 Pearlessence one I found… lord help me.

UNICORN ESSENCE

Mmmmmmm yeah.. so didn’t love it. Returned it. Shout out to Sephora’s amazing return policy.

HONEST.

I’m with you. I wanted to love it. It really is pink and shimmery and hypnotizing. Why wouldn’t I want to slather that on my face and love it?

But I didn’t. I did not love the consistency. It’s created to be a serum before makeup.

It made my skin subtly pinker. I am the queen of cool tones. When it comes to my hair, my closet, my face and my Instagram it is COOL TONES ONLY.

I’m always trying to minimize redness and even out my skin tone. So when the unicorn essence added a splash of pink to my face I just wasn’t loving it.

MAYBE on another skin tone it’d look fab..

But, it’s a no from me dawg.

SOOO for all the panicky susan’s who scrolled by, glanced at photos and want the spark notes version.

BUY AND TRY THE ROSE GOLD ELIXIR.

DO NOT BUY THE UNICORN ESSENCE.
