HENCE why we need to talk about laser genesis. INTRIGUED? Yeah me too.
Let’s start at the beginning.
OKAY I seriously went in for dermaplaning. Remember when I wrote about how I shave my face? But I had never actually tried the highly praised dermaplaning process. So I needed to see if what I was doing at home is the exact same or NOT.
Then I met Stacey.
Stacey is a licensed medical aesthetician. She knows what she’s talking about. We chatted about dermaplaning BUT you guys I was having a breakout near by chin, UGH, life right? Stacey was like well we could do some laser genesis instead and take care of that.

You can zap my breakout? Right here right now?
Aaaaand cue the excitement/nervousness. I voiced my apprehension of the word LASER. I have never had any medical aesthetic procedures etc.
She calmed my nerves by explaining that this laser is non invasive. It acts below the dermis to zap acne and incinerate dirt/debris. There is absolutely NO DOWN TIME. It’s the “lunch time treatment”.

NO WONDER those actresses on tv never have a huge pimple in the middle of heir forehead. EVER.
It’s their biggest Hollywood secret, other than shaving their faces.
So now I’m thinking okay, let’s TRY it. If these girls get it done all the time and the full effects actually take 4 to 6 treatments total then I can try it. Plus Stacey knows what she’s doing.
Just like Stacey said, it feels like a hot stone massage on your face. Sometimes theres like little tingling or popping feeling and that is the laser annihilating acne or dirt.
It’s over before you know it. Then Stacey follows up with a lovely concoction of serums and spf. I felt SO good after.
She sent me on my merry way with a little bag of Serene Professional Skin Care. I have been using it ALL week. There is a AHA 3 facial cleanser, BHA/AHA clarifying astringent, skin recovery serum and a UVA/UVB shield. Professional grade too. Won’t clog pores.
Immediately after I noticed a slight redness, which went away completely within a few hours. Make sure you apply sunscreen after too.
My skin feels much better. I want to get another treatment for full results but I saw immediate results. My breakout calmed down, my skin glows, it looks much more radiant and I’ve been wearing minimal makeup all week.
One thing I do want to do is invest in some ‘mineral makeup’. Stacey was talking about wearing mineral makeup and I went home, looked at my usual makeup products and realized most were NOT mineral. I don’t want to be putting stuff on my face that will clog my pores.
