So August 1st hey?
Ugh, but it’s okay we have lots of summer left. Why don’t we kick of this month with my FAV summer beers.
If you’re not a huge beer drinker, this post is for you. We love a crisp glass of rosé, bubbly or vino but sometimes an ice cold refreshing beer is what we need while boating, floating the river or lounging on a rooftop.
We also want to ENJOY a beer, not just tolerate it. These summer beers are extremely flavourful. Think white peach, coriander and passionfruit, grapefruit, cinnamon horchata and berries.
FUN RIGHT?!
x BUD LIGHT RADLER
This is perfect because it is stocked at pretty much every liquor store, making it easy to pick up when you’re with a large group heading to the lake and only making ONE stop. It’s your typical grapefruit radler, similar to a stiegl radler. So good.
x VILLAGE WIT
My go to when hanging out on a patio in Calgary. Village is a local brewery and is usually supplied at most of the local pubs and bars in the city. It’s light and easy to drink, especially on a hot day.
x VILLAGE SQUEEZE
Same brewery, similar taste. Light with a smack of berry. I LOVE this brew.
x PHILLIPS SOLARIS WHITE PEACH ALE
I find a lot of fruit beers don’t have enough of a fruit taste for me. This one does. You definitely taste the white peach flavour and it is awesome. Fun fact, Cibo in Calgary has this one on tap.
x BLUE MOON CINNAMON HORCHATA
SOOO GOOD. Like dessert. Cinnamon Horchata. I freakin’ LOVE cinnamon. It tastes like a cinnamon bun but is a beer and maybe that sounds incredibly weird and gross but it really isn’t. Give it a try the next time you’re in the liquor store and comment here to let me know what you think.
x WILD ROSE PONDEROSA GOSE
THIS SUMMER’S BEER. It’s currently stocked in our fridge. The boys AND the girls love it. It’s a fabulous combination of coriander, salt and passionfruit. It’s irresistible. TRUST ME. You have to try it.
x HELL’S BASEMENT BOXCAR COMFORTS BLONDE ALE
This brewery in Medicine Hat is nailing it. They know their beer. Okay my absolutely FAV is their blonde ale. It’s PERFECTION. I also love that on their website it “pairs well with: inside jokes”. HELLO, THAT’S RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY! An easy patio pounder to enjoy this long weekend.
x HELL’S BASEMENT ALL HOPS FOR A BASEMENT IPA
The boys. Okay okay okay I do not LOVE an IPA. It’s the hops flavour. BUT I wanted to throw this one in for all my readers that love a hoppy IPA. It’s probably the smoothest drinking one that I’ve tried. They claim that “it delivers a crisp tropical blast with foresty pine” and it definitely delivers.
x MAUI BREWING CO PINEAPPLE MANA
I FORGOT TO ADD TWO. My oh my I clearly need another coffee this AM. The pineapple mana by Maui brewing co is everything. It’s the perfect balance of pineapple and beer. I could drink it all day.
x FALLENTIMBER MEADERY MEADJITO
I’ve been picking this every single time it’s available. National on 10th {and I’m sure all the others} has it. It tastes like SPRITE. With Mojito. It is also clear-ish. Omg I love it to much. Definitely sip this on a hot patio day.

I did a Village Brewery tour once and they shared this amazing beer hack. Mix the Wit and the Squeeze and you get a WEEZY. It’s my favourite. Light, fruity and refreshing. I absolutely LOVE this one.
So those are my FAV summer beers!! Perfect timing, now we can stock up for August long weekend!!
