THIRD DAY OF BLOGMAS: Giving Back — Favorite Holiday Charities

Calgary based blog shares her favorite holiday charities. The third day of Blogmas is all about giving back.
Good Morning Gorgeous
Is everyone else busy getting Christmas presents, baking & gatherings planned? Oh boyyy right?
Well let’s just slow down for a second.
Today is all about Holiday charities.

I am the first to admit life can get hectic, especially around the holidays. Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight on what really matters. I wanted to take a moment today and plan out some charities that we can all help by raising awareness and/or participating in.

I’m going to be sharing with all of you my favorite holiday charities in Calgary!

Music For a Winter Evening

HEY YYC! This one is TONIGHT. Like December 13th, 2016. You can purchase tickets here. It’s the 16th Annual Music For a Winter Evening in support of the Calgary Dream Centre sponsored by Legacy Family of Companies. This cause helps over 3,000 homeless men and women in Calgary with the Calgary Dream Centre’s new women’s program addition.
This local organization promotes healthy life change for our cities homeless population and those dealing with addiction.

The concert will be taking place at the Jack Singer Concert Hall at 7:30PM tonight.

This evening  JUNO Award winning singer/songwriter, Steve Bell, along with band mates Gilles Fournier, Bart McKay, and Murray Pulver will be preforming.

Once again, get your tickets HERE!

The Magic of Christmas

NEXT, The Magic of Christmas. First of all, I love the name! So cute. What they do…. incredible.

I’ve quoted this from their site because it is SO well worded:

From this humble beginning 32 years ago, the Magic of Christmas has grown to a volunteer family of 800  Santas and elves!  On Christmas Eve we:

  • use 18 donated Calgary Transit buses

  • send the elves out on 36 shifts of six and a half hours each

  • visit over 500 families

  • bring cheer to over 4500 people in hospitals and other institutions.

I love it! There are a ton of drop off locations. Here is their interactive map. Just put together your fav items and drop them off! They will even take money as well.
