Wedding Outfits {Summer Edition}

Wedding Season is in full swing.
Maybe you’ve already attended one {maybe 4} or you’re counting down the days to show off those awesome shoulders you’ve been working all winter to sculpt cause you heard the groom’s brother’s best friend’s older cousin will be there and he’s TOTALLY cute.
Have no fear doll, I’m here to help you look smokin’.
You may have already settled on a outfit which is fabulous, but I have a few more ideas that may help pull that entire look together.

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty and talk wedding outfits.

Wonderful Guide to Creating the Perfect Wedding Outfit:

***Center + middle row. Best spot for catching that bouquet ;) ***

  • It’s not your show.

Okay. Every other day can be your show but this one is NOT. Don’t go over the top with your outfit and try to steal the show. It’s not your show, it’s the bride’s show. It’s her day and guess what, you’ll get your day soon enough sweetheart. Just remember classy > trashy. So sit pretty princess and leave the plunging neckline at home.

  • Bare the minimum.

It’s not a good idea to show up in a mini skirt spaghetti strap crop top combo {Remember, classy > trashy}. Bare the minimum. Those shoulders you’ve been working all winter to sculpt? Show em off! Go for it. But make sure you cover up the legs with a longer dress/skirt on bottom atleast to knee length. How about a strapless jumpsuit? SUPER cute.

  • What’s the Venue?

If you’re heading to Cabo for a wedding versus a conservative church in Vermont, you’re going to dress differently. Destination weddings think flowy, color, beachy. I’m obsessing over this flowey 2-peice dress. PERFECT. Yes, it’s a crop top, BUT the skirt is full length and did I mention it’s perfect? You get the point.

  • Pick a color, any color.

Especially for summer wedding outfits. Pastels are awesome. Avoid white {duh} and black is also great but for a summer wedding outfit why not mix it up?

  • Accessorize.

Okay so I suggest with shoes at a wedding go neutral. Nude or black. Both options are classic and go well with everything. Check out my blog post Shorts and Skirts and Skorts Oh My! for more info on pairing heels + shorts/skirts.
For the purse, go with a clutch. It’s trendy and gives your outfit that extra bit of fancy-ness you may be looking for. I personally think this is where you can go wild. Have fun with it. Pick a pop or color or a cool design/print to add interest to your wedding outfit.
